MD Undergraduate Program

Within a Faculty of Medicine (FoM), a MD Undergraduate Program (MDUP) is comprised of 4 geographically graphic sites including a Island Medical Program (IMP), a Northern Medical Program (NMP), a Vancouver Fraser Medical Program (VFMP), and a Southern Medical Program (SMP). In partnership with a provincial government, educational partners University of Victoria and a University of Northern British Columbia, and all 6 health authorities, a MDUP takes a province-wide proceed in clinical training, health sciences research, and training opposite BC.

Qualifications:

Working Relationships:

Reports to a Head, Woodward Library and a Regional Associate Dean, Vancouver Fraser, UBC.   Works closely with a 3 other MD Undergraduate Librarians ancillary a distributed module and a several clinical sites opposite a province. Collaborates with a medical attribute librarians during Woodward and a Biomedical Branch Library (BMB). Consults with library staff and colleagues as required.  Works with faculty, students, staff and a public.

Duties:

Budget and Coordination:

1. At a instruction of a MD Undergraduate Library Subcommittee, prepares a annual bill for e-resources to support a distributed MD Undergraduate Program as good as resources compulsory for information and library services within a Vancouver Fraser Medical Program.
2. Monitors a bill via a year, advising a MD Undergraduate Library Subcommittee of discrepancies.
3. With a Evaluation Studies Unit, coordinates a ongoing analysis activities and prepares an annual news on a library services ancillary a distributed MD Undergraduate P
4. Coordinates training for a MD Undergraduate Librarians and other staff opposite a distributed sites.
5. Coordinates support applicable to a library support of a UBC distributed program.

Reference and Instruction Services:

1. Coordinates and participates in a sustenance of anxiety services to all students in a MD Undergraduate Program, ensuring equity of entrance to information. This includes cross-site practical anxiety services, email anxiety and other programs compulsory to accommodate accreditation standards.
2. Participates in a information education module that supports a growth of evidence-based use skills.
3. Provides unchanging overdo anxiety to medical students, staff and expertise in a Life Sciences Centre.

• Regularly reviews e-resources protected for use during distributed sites, in partnership with MD Undergraduate Librarians and Woodward collections librarians.

2. Facilitates a merger of element for a MD undergraduate module during UBC as supports turn available.

3. Works with a librarians and staff in a area of reserves, to consider and suggest mechanisms for ensuring estimable and timely entrance to materials for a MD Undergraduate program.

Liaison And Communication:

2. Develops and maintains an active operative attribute with all members of a MD Undergraduate Medical Librarians’ Team, all UBC expertise participating in a MD Undergraduate module and a UBC Medical Liaison Librarians and a UBC Biomedical Branch Librarian.
3. Communicates frequently with UBC Library’s ILL/DD, technical services, open services and collections staff per library support of a MD Undergraduate program.
4. Acts as a Library’s attribute with a MD undergraduate program’s training supervision system. Communicates frequently with MedIT per library support of a MD Undergraduate program.
5. Facilitates communication between a Faculty of Medicine, sanatorium librarians and university libraries in support of clinical clerkships.

Other:

1. Participates in Library’ and University committees, councils, charge army and teams – as appropriate.
2. Keeps present on developments in library services, resources and record and broader issues that impact a use of librarianship.
3. Participates in suitable veteran organizations.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND SALARY:
